History of Lever BA

Formed in 2007-08 as a reserve side for West Cheshire club Newton and finished a creditable 5th in division 2.

2008-09. Won promotion, finishing runners up in division 2.

2009-10. Team split from Newton and played under new sponsor’s name Netherton Snooker Club. Club moved to playing on the center pitch at the Bebington Oval. Finished 6th in Division 1. Won the Northern Cup at first attempt and named CDFL team of the year.

2010-11 The club finds a new home when they move to The Lever Club Port Sunlight Village and finish the season in 3rd place in the division and achieves their aim of reaching the Premiere Division within 5 years of formation. The only disappointment was that we failed to defend our Northern Cup title.

2011-12 Club appoint Simon Corriea as new Team Manager. Along with a new manager, new division and player’s the team struggled to make their mark in the division only plus point made a cup Quarter Final, resulting in the team finishing in the bottom 2 only avoiding relegation due to restructuring with in the league.

2012-13 The Lever Club move into Sunday Football when they sponsor Birkenhead Sunday League side Busshell Athletic and the club is re-launched as Lever BA. This season will mark the club’s 100th league fixture and we are pleased that we still have 75% of the player’s still member’s of our squad.
